Successful commitment to innovation and growth in Saxony since 2002: futureSAX

For more than 15 years, futureSAX has been dedicated to the promotion of business startups, growth and innovation in Saxony. futureSAX provides growth impulses and honors innovative companies, transfer projects and startups in Saxony with the Saxon Innovation Prize, the Saxon Transfer Prize and the Saxon Founder Prize.

2018

futureSAX GmbH

What began in 1999 as a business plan competition for the IT industry has successfully established itself as a project under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Affairs as a cross-industry and cross-technology interface for founders, entrepreneurs, investors, scientists and transfer players in Saxony.

The innovation platform of the Free State of Saxony becomes futureSAX GmbH. The Free State of Saxony and Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH (WFS) act as shareholders of the new GmbH. The managing director of futureSAX GmbH will be Marina Heimann, who has been project manager for many years. The new futureSAX GmbH team is looking forward to continuing and further developing the established formats as well as the comprehensive network work on a long-term basis.

2017

Combining the proven and the new - for innovative founders and companies

In 2017, the Saxon Ministry of Economics, Labour and Transport carried out the various activities of futureSAX on its own initiative, with the aim of creating a sustainable structure and thus further strengthening the impact for Saxony.

Within the network, the new format Saxon Mentoring Network was established, which gives young and established companies the opportunity to exchange their experiences and relevant topics around the growth process with other entrepreneurs and knowledge carriers outside of specialist consulting and coaching.

In addition to the futureSAX ideas competition (now the Saxon Founder's Prize) and the Saxon Innovation Prize, the Saxon Transfer Prize was awarded for the first time at the Innovation Summit. Altogether over 100 applications clarify once more the potential and commitment in the innovation country Saxony. In addition to the showcases, the transfer area was honoured with its own area during the conference.

2016

Rediscover Saxony as a land of innovation with futureSAX

Since April, the german futureSAX website has been shining with a new, fresh design and new functions.

While the futureSAX innovation radar provides an overview of the innovative founders and entrepreneurs from the futureSAX network, the futureSAX partner networks make it even easier to find the right contacts for reasons and transfer in the entire Free State.

futureSAX also expanded its repertoire of event formats live with the futureSAX innovation exchange. As an extension of the existing format, cooperation requests between science and industry can now not only be placed as one-pagers online or at events, but also presented on stage.

2015

Focus on the next generation of entrepreneurs

In April, the first startups from the network inaugurated the new futureSAX Start-up Corner format at the Hanover Fair - created to help Saxon founders enter the market and increase awareness. After its successful debut in Germany, the futureSAX Start-up Corner travelled across European borders to the USA to SEMICON West, from where it left many more stations behind. In November, futureSAX ceremoniously announced the cooperation "futureSAX meets Jugend forscht" at the kick-off event of the same name. Since then, the two networks have been linked by a common goal as a nationwide pilot project - to strengthen the young spirit of innovation and invention in Bavaria. In December, futureSAX invited the futureSAX Startup Network Partners to meet for the first time with the aim of intensifying the exchange between the public supporters of the Saxon Startup scene.
