Saxon State Minister honoured Saxony’s most innovative high-growth companies and start-ups on futureSAX Innovation Summit

The Saxon State Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport Mr. Martin Dulig honoured Saxony’s most innovative high-growth companies and start-ups on 2nd July 2015 in Dresden. “The broad range of the ideas, new products and solutions in the competitions are an impressive demonstration of the innovative power of the Saxon economy.”, stated Mr. Dulig. He continued: “We honour with the State Prize for Innovation those companies, that lead the economic development of Saxony towards innovation leadership in Europe with their commitment to creativity, research and innovation.” 

The State Prize for Innovation went to BMF GmbH from Grüna, that has developed a novel blasting machine for surface treatment in the manufacturing of metal components. Fäth Group from Klipphausen was ranked second with an innovative slurry-recycling process for use in different industries. Thyssen-Krupp Presta Chemnitz GmbH took the third place in the competition for its development of a lightweight camshaft for truck engines.

WAVELABS Solar Metrology Systems GmbH from Leipzig was the winner of the 2015 futureSAX-Start-up competition. Founded about three years ago, WAVELABS already sells successfully its innovative LED-based measurement systems for the solar industry worldwide. The second place went to Airrays GmbH, a spin-off from the 5G Lab of Technical University of Dresden, that has developed innovative antenna systems for the 5G mobile communication standard. Conbox GmbH from Leipzig occupied the third place, convincing the jury with their software-platform for real-time Smart TV applications.

Two special prizes were handed over, too. The Saxon chambers for trades and crafts awarded their special prize to “EORA – hearing aid jewelries”, developed by the optometrist and hearing aid acoustician business Riedel GmbH from Dresden. The company offers hearing aid devices integrated into hand-made design-earrings.
“Finding Lipid Signatures for Deseases“ is the mission of Lipotype GmbH from Dresden. The innovative technology behind the mission secured them the special prize “Emerging Industries”.

Finally, the crowd had their say. The futureSAX-Online award went to Parkingslot, a new mobile app developed by a start-up from Leipzig, that helps motorists to find free parking spaces and parking spaces for handicapped people. The futureSAX-Online award was kindly supported by Cyberport GmbH.
